Ex-KAC goalie Jhonas Enroth has a new employer!

At the age of 37, Swedish goalkeeper Jhonas Enroth is entering his next professional season. The former KAC crack signed up for a traditional Swedish club.

In 2004/05, Enroth gained his first experience in professional ice hockey for the then Allsvenskan Club Huddinge SK. In the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, the Buffalo Sabers secured the rights to netminder.

Many years overseas

Swede started his North American adventure in the 2008/09 season, then made his NHL debut in 2009/10. Enroth played over 150 games in his eight years and won 50 games. In addition to scoring for the Sabres, he also guarded the net for the Dallas Stars, Los Angeles Kings and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Comeback in Europe

In 2017, Enroth returned to Europe and played almost three full seasons for Belarusian club Dinamo Minsk. In 2019/20 he had a short stint in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League. The veteran was on the ice for three games in the KAC uniform.

He was under contract with Örebro HK for the last six seasons but this collaboration ended. Now the left-handed catcher has found a new task. In the coming season he will guard the goal of the traditional Swedish club AIK Stockholm, who currently play in the Swedish second division.
