Austin Ortega has signed a new contract and will play for the Schwenninger Wild Wings in the PENNY DEL. The American striker not only brings a wealth of experience from Germany, but also a history in Austria.
Strong values in Austria and Germany
In the 2020/21 season, Ortega was on the ice for EC Red Bull Salzburg in the ICEHL. The fast attacker recorded 20 points in 28 games and made a strong impression in the domestic league.
The right-wing shooter has long since made a name for himself, especially in Germany. 129 goals and 132 assists in over 300 DEL games speak for themselves. Most recently he also showed his offensive qualities with the Dresdner Eislöwen with 21 goals and 18 assists in 52 appearances.
With his speed, his instinct for goal and his unpredictability in front of the goal, Ortega should now strengthen the Wild Wings’ offense. Those in charge have high hopes for the newcomer, who has already proven in the past that he can be a decisive factor.
