Now it’s official: For
Korbinian Holzer
It’s over – the Graz99ers just announced that. The captain of the
Moser Medical Graz99ers ends his active career after winning the championship with the Graz99ers. After two years in Graz, the 38-year-old is saying goodbye to professional sport.
Successful career at the highest level
Holzer looks back on an extraordinary career. Overall, he completed years of seasons at the top level in the NHL, AHL, KHL, DEL and ICEHL as well as numerous appearances for the German national team. Particularly noteworthy are his 231 NHL games for teams such as the Toronto Maple Leafs and Anaheim Ducks as well as his over 90 international games for Germany.
Late but special success story in Graz
Two years ago, Holzer moved to Graz – a move that turned out to be a stroke of luck for both sides. He quickly took over the captaincy role and became a central figure in the team. In the 2025/26 season he finally led the 99ers to the championship title, the greatest success of his club career.
