Confirmed: New defender approaching the Villach Adlerhorst!

Now it’s official: Canadian defender Sean Larochelle will join the EC iDM Heat Pumps VSV.

The 25-year-old’s name has been associated with the people of Draustadt for some time – now the Adler have confirmed it. Sean Larochelle is moving to Villach and thus strengthening the defensive line-up.

First stop outside Canada

For the German, Villach is his first employer outside of his homeland. Larochelle spent the last four years at Concordia University, where he collected 74 points scorer in 102 appearances.

VSV Managing Director Martin Winkler on “vsv.at“: “Sean is an extremely fast and versatile player who will immediately give our offensive game more speed and depth. He has a lot of skill with the disc, works hard in both directions and fits perfectly into the profile we are looking for in our squad: young, hungry players who want to take the next step in Europe and prove themselves at a high level. With players like Nicolas Mattinen and Dylan MacPherson, we have already seen in recent years how well this path can work.

Defense now well occupied

Villach has six experienced defenders under contract: Larochelle, Philipp Lindner, Steven Strong, Thomas Vallant, Scott Walford and Alex Wall. There is also the young Julian Raspotnig, who will continue to gain experience at VSV.
