Thomas Hundertpfund continues his impressive career at EC-KAC. The captain of the record champions has extended his contract and will also play for the Red Jackets in the 2026/27 season – this will be his 18th year in the fighting team of his hometown club.
The 36-year-old center forward, who completed his entire youth training at EC-KAC, made his debut in the first team in November 2006 at the age of 16. From the 2008/09 season onwards, Hundertpfund was permanently part of the permanent staff, only interrupted by a one-year commitment to the Swedish club Timrå IK. He has also held the captaincy of Klagenfurt since 2023.
Championship titles and records
In his career so far, the attacker has been in the final series of the win2day ICE Hockey League nine times with the EC-KAC and celebrated four championship titles (2009, 2013, 2019, 2021). No other player in the club’s history has played more league games for the record champions – Hundertpfund currently has 959 appearances in the championship, followed by Thomas Koch (862) and Mario Schaden (828).
In total, the Klagenfurt native has played 993 competitive games for the EC-KAC so far, in which he has recorded 535 scorer points (189 goals, 346 assists) and an impressive plus/minus balance of +203.
The captain is currently undergoing rehabilitation after suffering a serious lower body injury in December. The healing process so far makes the club optimistic that Hundertlbenden will be fully operational again in time for the start of the coming season.
