Black Wings Linz and Rasmus Tirronen are going their separate ways!

After a total of four years, the collaboration between the Steinbach Black Wings Linz and goalkeeper Rasmus Tirronen is ending.

The 35-year-old Finn made his debut in the win2day ICE Hockey League in 2021, at that time still wearing the Hydro Fehervar AV19 jersey. In the summer of 2022, he moved to Upper Austria, where Tirronen was supposed to keep goal for four seasons. He was able to win 74 games this season with Linz.

In the Linz all-time ranking, only Michael Ouzas (156) and Alex Westlund (121) have more wins to their name. Remarkable: with 2.48 goals conceded per game, the Finn has a better average than the two netminders mentioned above.

The Black Wings Linz recently made the end of the Tirronen era official via social media.
