At the end of Qualification Round A, Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel will travel to Cortina on Thursday. Zdenek Sedlak will be used for the first time in the all-important game for participation in the pre-playoffs. The 25-year-old Czech was re-signed this week and is expected to give the team new impetus on offense.
Sedlak began his ice hockey career in his hometown of Zlín in the southeast of the Czech Republic. His career took him to Finland for a long time, where he played for various teams before returning. “I spent many years with Kärpät in Finland and was temporarily loaned out to other clubs. The last three years I played in my hometown of Zlín, which was something very special for me after so many years abroad,” explains Sedlak, who also took a short trip to Polish club KH Toruń this season.
New addition should strengthen offensive
The offensive player, who describes himself as a classic power forward, is really looking forward to his role in Kitzbühel and also describes his strengths: “I’m really very excited. I’ve only heard good things about the organization and the place here, and so far everything has made a very positive impression on me. That’s why I’m really looking forward to my first game. My strengths lie in protecting the puck, finishing and going hard towards the goal and playing physically. In short: I try to do everything you expect from a power forward on the ice “to implement,” says Sedlak.
