Philipp Wimmer, who still had a current contract with the Red Bulls, will no longer play for EC Red Bull Salzburg and will now face new challenges next season.
Wimmer came to the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy in 2017 and made his debut in the Red Bulls’ professional team in 2021, with whom he played a total of 105 games (5 goals, 17 assists) in the last five years and won his share of three ICE championship titles.
The Viennese native was repeatedly set back by injuries, but fought his way back again and again with a lot of hard work and patience. Last season he appeared in 24 ICE games (1 goal, 5 assists) with the pros and 7 games (6 assists) with the Red Bull Hockey Juniors in the AHL.
