After the illegal physical attack in the playoff duel between Fehervar AV19 and EC KAC, the game could still have repercussions for Fehervar striker Anže Kuralt.
The scene occurred in the third period when Kuralt hit KAC defender David Maier hard with a checked check. After studying the video in detail, the referees decided on a 5+game disciplinary penalty against the AVS attacker.
The league’s Department of Player Safety (DOPS) will now take a closer look at this action and check whether further sanctions will follow.
The KAC took advantage of the ensuing power play and scored a goal to equalize 2-2. However, in the end it wasn’t enough to win – AVS ultimately won the game in overtime.
