A club legend is leaving his ICEHL club after eleven seasons!

An era is coming to an end at HC Pustertal: club legend and captain Raphael Andergassen is leaving the South Tyrolean team at his own request after eleven years.

Farewell after 591 games

Andergassen shaped HC Pustertal for more than a decade – from the young player to the long-time leader and captain. The 32-year-old played a total of 591 games in the “Wolves” jersey. The club said goodbye to its leader with emotional words and emphasized the pride and identification with which Andergassen wore the black and yellow jersey.

Return to the home club

In the future, the attacker will play again for his hometown club SV Kaltern, where he would like to end his career. The move will probably also end his career in the national team. Andergassen played a total of 131 international matches for Italy and took part in six World Cups.

End of a formative era

Just one day after several important contract extensions, the Pusterers have to cope with the departure of their long-standing identification figure. With Andergassen, the runner-up not only loses their captain, but also one of the most influential players in the club’s recent history.
