Even at almost 48 years old, Martin Pewal can’t help it: The long-time EBEL striker will also play in the Carinthian league next season.
Martin Pewal looks back on a successful professional career, although it was a while ago. The man from Villach played eight seasons in the highest Austrian league and was champion four times. 1999 and 2002 with VSV, 2003 with the Black Wings Linz and 2007 with Red Bull Salzburg.
In 2009 he moved from HC Innsbruck to the second division, where he played for Dornbirn and ATSE Graz. After that, he has been on the ice in the Carinthian League since 2012. After ten years at UECR Huben, he moved to Steindorf in 2023, where in his debut season he scored an impressive 16 goals and prepared 18 more in 24 appearances as a 46-year-old. With two championship titles in a row under our belt, we’re now heading to Spittal.
As has now been announced, Pewal will “strengthen the Hornets next year and, above all, help lead and develop the young cracks.”
