has clarified his future: the 33-year-old is staying with his current club

loyal in the long term and extends his contract.
Strong years in the ICEHL
Kristensen was particularly active during his time at
HC Pustertal attracted lasting attention in the ICEHL. In the 2021/22 season he already showed his offensive qualities in the regular season: in 40 games, the defender recorded a strong 18 points (10 goals, 8 assists) and also impressed with a positive plus/minus value.
He also remained an important factor in the playoffs. Although he “only” managed one assist point in four games, his physical presence and experience made him a stable source of support in the defense.
In the following 2022/23 season, he confirmed his role as a leading player and once again made a solid contribution to his team’s performance. His time in the ICEHL is considered one of the most formative phases of his career.
Successful move to France
After his ICEHL time, Kristensen moved to
Rouen in the
League Magnus. There he took the next step in his career: with 28 points in 38 games, he played an outstanding season and crowned it by winning the French championship.
Return to Denmark and new role
Kristensen has been under contract with Herning since 2024 and immediately developed into a central figure. In the 2024/25 season he shone with 44 points in the regular season and a further 16 points in the playoffs. He is continuing these achievements in the current season as well.
In addition to his offensive production, he is increasingly taking on responsibility as a leader and is one of the top performers in the team.
Long-term commitment as a clear signal
With the contract extension until the 2027/28 season, Herning is sending a clear signal: Kristensen should continue to play a key role in the coming years.
