Fuss about Graz99ers away block: Fehervar president with statement!

accusation

The trigger was a social media post from a Hungarian fan who made massive allegations against the local organization. Accordingly, some tickets from the away sector were sold to home fans, which significantly reduced the capacity for away fans. There was also criticism that around 100 tickets sold were ultimately distributed in an area that was significantly too small – according to the fan, this space was only enough for around 50 people. Security forces then tried to keep the fans in a small space, which was perceived as inappropriate and harassing.

The fan spoke of a lack of hospitality and compared it to paying guests being given less space than booked. However, the intervention of the police, which defused the situation, was highlighted positively.

The allegations caused lively discussions online – including among Graz supporters, some of whom showed understanding and praised the guests’ mood, while others put the situation into perspective.

The Hungarian club finally responded officially to the request from Hockey News. A statement from the club president was much more sober:

“The club is in constant contact with our official fan club and we have not received any such negative feedback from them. For our part, we would like to concentrate on ensuring that our team is well prepared and focused for the upcoming home game. The MET Aréna is also well prepared to receive both our home fans and the away fans traveling from Graz.”

This means that there are currently two different perceptions. The focus is now back on sport: Game 2 of the semi-final series is already taking place today in Hungary, where
