As the top scorer of the month, Michael Raffl qualified for the “Hockey News Player of the Month for February” and now won the title in the fan voting. He therefore automatically qualified for the vote for Player of the Year.
Over 20,000 votes were cast in the February Player of the Month voting and an exciting three-way battle for the title developed. Michael Raffl ultimately took the win with just four appearances in the month interrupted by the Olympics. But Raffl was the top scorer of the month with three goals and six assists. Jan Drozg from Laibach secured second place with 6,558 votes, eleven percent behind Raffl, who got 9,061 votes. VSV striker Adam Helewka completes the podium with 4,528 votes.
After January winner TJ Brennan, December winner Tyler Coulter, November winner Rasmus Reijola, October winner Brady Shaw and September winner Nicolai Meyer, Michael Raffl is the sixth player who is definitely qualified for the vote for player of the season. Voting for player of the season starts in a few days.
