ICEHL: Will Manny Viveiros remain head coach of Red Bull Salzburg?

Despite the quarter-final exit, the Manny Viveiro era could continue in Salzburg, as the “Salzburger Nachrichten” reports.

The 4-0 defeat against HC Pustertal was the series champions’ first quarter-final exit since 2011/12. It is logical that personnel consequences are being considered; head coach Manny Viveiros is also criticized and questioned.

The “Kleine Zeitung” reported a week ago that Manny Viveiros’ days are likely to be numbered. But now things look like a turning point. The “Salzburger Nachrichten” now reports that it is becoming increasingly apparent that Viveiros will remain at the helm.

There is no official report from Salzburg about this yet. However, there have been some squad decisions recently. The Raffl brothers and David Kickert will stay, while Lucas Thaler will leave the Bulls. There is talk of a comeback by Konstantin Komarek on the Salzach, but it is currently still a rumor.
