Villacher SV will not extend the contract with Guus van Nes. The Dutchman is leaving the club after two years – this is reported by the “Kleine Zeitung”.
Van Nes played 48 games, 12 goals and 13 assists (25 points) this season and was therefore a solid part of the offense. In total, he made around 100 appearances and 60 scorer points in Villach.
The decision is less performance-related than strategic: VSV is planning targeted changes to the import positions. Van Nes was considered a reliable worker and could definitely find a place in the league again.
