The Red Bull Hockey Juniors celebrated their second clear win in a row against HC Gherdeina valgardena.it, forcing a playoff. The 9-2 home win on Friday was followed by a 6-2 away win on Sunday. Game seven of the quarter-final series takes place on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. in Salzburg.
Val Gardena was also unable to use its second match puck and therefore has to play an away playoff game on Tuesday. In front of almost 1,000 fans, the South Tyroleans clearly lost to the Red Bull Hockey Juniors 2:6. After just six and a half minutes, the Juniors were leading 3-0. After the first period the score was 4-1, and after 30 minutes they were already ahead 6-1.
Even after that, Salzburg had the game clearly under control and recorded 19 of their 47 shots on goal in the final third alone, without scoring any further goals. Val Gardena finally scored the final point in the 43rd minute when they were outnumbered. However, the South Tyroleans were unable to exert any further pressure as a result, which means that the big showdown for the semi-finals will take place on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. in Salzburg.
