Changes at the Eagles: Sports director resigns from his position!

After the 2025/2026 season, which ended in the pre-playoffs, there were changes to the board of EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel. Sports director Wilfried Wetzl is resigning from his position and is also leaving the club’s board.

Wetzl has worked as sports director for the past four years and has made a significant contribution to the club’s sporting development during this time. Under his responsibility, important sporting successes were achieved, especially winning the Austrian championship last season, which represents a special milestone in the club’s recent history.

After intensive discussions, the club decided to take new paths in the future, both sportingly and structurally. In addition to sporting considerations, organizational and economic conditions also play a role, making a realignment in this area necessary.

“On behalf of the entire board, I would like to thank Wilfried Wetzl for his committed and successful work over the past few years. He was an important part of our Adler team and always worked with great commitment for the club. After a challenging season, the collaboration is now coming to an end. We wish Wilfried Wetzl all the best,” explains President Volker Zeh.
