36-year-old defender Ryan McKiernan is back on the market. In the 2025/26 season he was with the
Lions Frankfurt under contract in the DEL and made 46 appearances in which he recorded 4 goals and 6 assists (10 points) – his contract was not extended.
Overall, McKiernan brings extensive experience from the DEL. In 311 games he scored 139 points (33 goals, 106 assists) for stations such as
Düsseldorfer EC,
Polar Bears Berlin and
EHC Munich.
The defender was also active in the ICEHL (formerly EBEL) for several years. For the
Vienna Capitals and the
Villacher SV
He played 144 games and collected 95 points (26 goals, 69 assists). He won the championship title with the Vienna Capitals in the 2016/17 season.
