VSV sports director Hohenberger self-critically: “You can’t act like that”

After another quarter-final exit EC VSV said sports director Herbert Hohenberger open and self-critical.

The clear 2:6 against them Graz99ers – including a horror start with 0:6 after just 16 minutes – was emblematic of the entire season for him. “You can’t act like that, most of the players had already finished before the match,” Hohenberger said clearly to the “Kronen Zeitung”.

The sports director also took himself to task: “We also have to reflect on our performance and will do that extensively. I will try to learn from the mistakes.” A main problem was the lack of stability: “There was never any calm in the team – that has to get better.”

Despite the bitter departure, Hohenberger doesn’t see everything as negative. The newcomers like Adam Helewka and Nick Hutchison were particularly convincing. But one thing is clear: after the fourth quarter-final exit in a row, Villach is facing a difficult summer.
