Salzburg, who are used to success, had to say goodbye to the playoffs last Tuesday. With 0:4 they went down quite quietly against a strong HC Falkensteiner Pustertal. But has the end of the championship series already become apparent over the course of the season?
The answer is very clear: no. Although the Bulls finished the regular round in third place, there was still the feeling that they lacked consistency. Salzburg had their best phase from December 7th to January 9th – during this period they achieved twelve victories and fought their way up the table. Head coach Manny Viveiros was also repeatedly criticized throughout the season and the “1st round exit” is likely to make it louder again. Viveiros only took over the position last summer, but the signs now seem to be pointing to farewell again. As the “Small newspaper“ reports, the 60-year-old’s days are probably numbered again.
