He was one of the bright spots of the season at VSV: Paul Sintschnig made an exclamation point for the Eagles early on and already played his way into the hearts of Villach fans at the age of 17. But now the farewell could follow.
The 17-year-old caused a sensation, especially at the start of the season, and played surprisingly calmly. In 32 games he scored 5 goals and 2 assists. November also marked the national team debut under head coach Roger Bader.
Of all places, there was a setback: an injury stopped his progress and took away his chance to continue his development throughout the entire season. Most recently, he was only used sporadically in the fighting team under head coach Pierre Allard and occasionally helped out with the Eagles’ U18 team.
Nevertheless, Sintschnig is seen as a great promise for the future. The attacker is pursuing a clear plan and wants to establish himself at a higher level in the long term – according to the “Kronen Zeitung”, a step towards North America seems to be a possible goal.
