HC Gherdeina celebrated a 3-2 victory over Red Bull Hockey Juniors in the second quarter-final game, making it 1-1 in the best-of-seven series.
HC Gherdeina returned to the best-of-seven series in the only quarter-final game on Friday. With a 3-2 win against Red Bull Hockey Juniors, Gherdeina made it 1-1 in the series. The hosts from South Tyrol took a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute thanks to a goal from Matteo Luisetti. However, the juniors turned the game around in the middle period with a brace from Luca Kogler and Niklas Korhonen. However, Gherdeina was able to equalize in the same period with a goal from Vlastimil Dostalek. It was Dostalek who scored the much-celebrated winning goal in the 51st minute, thus leveling the quarter-final series.
The other quarter-final series will complete the third games of their “best-of-seven” series on Saturday. The series between Red Bull Hockey Juniors and Gherdeina enters its third game on Sunday
