Change of coach at EC Bad Nauheim in the DEL2: Shortly before the start of the playdowns, those responsible made a groundbreaking decision and reorganized the coaching team. The experienced Kevin Gaudet will take over the position of head coach with immediate effect.
With this decision, the collaboration with ex-ICEHL coach Antti Karhula ends. Gaudet is no stranger to Austrian ice hockey. The Canadian was head coach of the Vienna Capitals from 2007 to 2011 and then gained experience in German ice hockey for many years – from the DEL to the DEL2 right down to the major league.
The coaching position in Bad Nauheim also has a connection to another well-known name from the ICE Hockey League: Harry Lange. The current DEG coach and former Graz99ers coach shaped the club for many years. Lange played for Bad Nauheim for a total of six seasons before working on the coaching staff for five years – including as head coach.
Karhula, on the other hand, is also no stranger to fans of the ICE Hockey League. The Finn worked as a coach in the league for several years and was behind the team at Fehérvár and Olimpija Ljubljana, among others.
