ICEHL: The KAC still has hope for a contract extension with its top striker!

Jan Mursak actually plans to hang up his skates after this season. But the KAC hasn’t completely given up hope that the Slovenian might extend his contract again.

Jan Mursak turned 38 in January and can look back on a long, successful career, the last chapter of which opened three years ago in Klagenfurt. This is not yet closed, this year the main goal is to win the championship and be the crowning achievement. Or not?

As the “Kronen Zeitung” reports, the KAC is said to still have hope that Mursak may remain active for another year. “I know his statements. Mursak hasn’t turned me down 100 percent yet,” said manager Oliver Pilloni. But there are no discussions at the moment, the focus is currently on the playoffs.

Plans for career after career

Mursak himself has openly discussed with the media about ending his career after the season and already has plans for the period afterwards. He is not aiming for a coaching career, but wants to stay involved in ice hockey and could imagine working in the area of player development, for example as a scout or in management.
