Top scorer Chris DiDomenico and HC Ambri-Piotta go their separate ways immediately. The veteran was recently at the top of an ICEHL club’s wish list – specifically HC Bolzano.
The South Tyroleans are said to have worked intensively on signing the 37-year-old offensive star. A transfer would have caused quite a stir in the league, after all, DiDomenico not only brings enormous experience but also outstanding numbers. This season the Canadian is once again his team’s top scorer, collecting a strong 41 points in 47 games.
In 534 games in the National League, the striker collected an incredible 503 points scorer – a record that makes him one of the most consistent and productive import players in recent years. In Switzerland he also ran alongside Ambri SC Bernthe SCL Tigers and HC Fribourg-Gotteron on.
He also made his mark on the international stage: he lifted the prestigious award three times Spengler Cup upwards. According to “watson.ch”, DiDomenico rejected a transfer to Bolzano for personal reasons.
