The quarter-finals begin on Tuesday, March 10th, and the champion of the 26th season will be determined by Wednesday, April 29th at the latest. Below you will find the most important information about the playoffs – from the mode and overtime regulations to the schedule and DOPS rules.
Mode: The pre-playoffs will be played in the best-of-3 format, all other series from the quarter-finals onwards in the best-of-7 format. In the pre-playoffs, two wins are necessary to advance to the next round, and from the quarter-finals onwards, four wins are required.
Quarterfinal pick: After the pre-playoffs have been completed, the quarterfinal pick takes place: The top 3 teams of the regular season can choose their opponent for the quarterfinals. The Moser Medical Graz99ers have first pick rights as regular season champions, followed by EC-KAC and EC Red Bull Salzburg. The fourth-placed HCB Südtirol Alperia can no longer choose and will automatically be assigned the team that was not chosen in the pick.
Matchups in the semifinals: The best-ranked team in the regular season meets the team with the worst ranking in the regular season.
Flexible schedule: If all series in the quarter or semi-finals have already been decided after four or five games, the next round will start earlier than originally scheduled (to the playoff schedule).
If there is a tie after regular playing time, the following overtime rule applies:
- Endless Overtime with Sudden Death: The game continues until a winning goal is scored.
- Non-deciding games: After the first full overtime period (20 minutes), the number of field players is reduced to three players plus goalkeeper per team.
- Decision games: Continue in 5-on-5 mode until the decisive goal is scored.

- Misconducts will be counted again during the playoff phase.
- Repeat offenders are recorded separately.
- No automatic crediting of fighting penalties. Each fight is reviewed individually and DOPS will take appropriate action if necessary.
- From the quarter-finals onwards, every goal will be reviewed in the Situation Room.
- For all games from the quarter-finals onwards, a replacement official will be available who will also monitor the video goal judge (VGJ) system.
