ICEHL: Voted “Hockey News Player of the Month for February”

As is tradition, Hockey-News is once again looking for the player of the season. Before that, however, it is important to choose the respective players of the month, which will be determined by fan voting. In the sixth monthly voting we are looking for the player of the month for February.

Several players are nominated monthly by the Hockey News editorial team, who then compete for Player of the Month. The winner will be determined through a fan vote lasting several weeks and will qualify directly for the election for Player of the 2025/26 season, which will take place after the last monthly vote.

In addition to the six monthly winners, the editorial team nominated six other deserving players, giving a total of twelve players to choose from. The result of the final Player of the Year election is the sum of two votes. 50% from the fan voting as in the Player of the Month elections and 50% from an editorial vote in which the Hockey News editorial team votes.

Voting runs until Friday March 27th/midnight and here are the nominations for Player of the Month for February:

Michael Raffl (EC Red Bull Salzburg)

4 games – 3 goals – 6 assists
There weren’t many games in February. For Michael Raffl, with four appearances, this is the least of all the nominees. Nevertheless, he was joint top scorer of the month with Brad McClure.

Brad McClure (HC Bozen)

6 games – 6 goals – 3 assists
Together with Michael Raffl, he collected the most scorer points in February and also scored the most goals of all players during this period – this is how Brad McClure earned his nomination.

Simeon Schwinger (EC KAC)

5 games – 4 goals – 3 assists
In his third season at KAC, Simeon Schwinger was able to improve again and hit the opponent’s goal 18 times. He is in top form just in time for the hot phase of the season.

Jan Drozg (Olimpija Ljubljana)

5 games – 5 goals – 2 assists
With the additional signing of Jan Drozg, the Slovenians achieved a transfer coup. The long-time KHL legionnaire didn’t need any warm-up time and immediately showed his scoring skills.

Adam Helewka (EC VSV)

6 games – 5 goals – 2 assists
It wasn’t Adam Helewka’s fault that VSV had to fight its way through the pre-playoffs. The newcomer from Bolzano also shows his goalscoring qualities in the Adler uniform.

Sebastian Dahm (EC KAC)

5 games – 4 wins – 8 goals conceded – 93.4% catch rate – 2 shut-outs
Even in his sixth season with the KAC, Sebastian Dahm is the support that the Red Jackets hope for. In February he had two shutouts.

Sam Harvey (HC Bozen)

5 games – 3 wins – 11 goals conceded – 93.6% catch rate – 1 shut-out
Just like with Dahm in Klagenfurt, in Bozen you also know what you have in your goalie. Sam Harvey, who is in his fourth season with the Foxes, is currently in top form.
