On the penultimate matchday of the win2day ICE Hockey League season, the EC-KAC secured three points against HCB Südtirol Alperia. This means that the Red Jackets defend their lead in the table – the winner of the basic round will not be found until Sunday.
The KAC was the first team to break the 100-point mark and successfully defended its lead in the table. After a goalless opening third, the Klagenfurt team scored three goals in the middle period: Jan Mursak opened the scoring after a pass from Schwinger, Matt Fraser scored twice in the power play. In the final third, Bozen came close three times, but the KAC always found the right answer. The game was decided at the latest with Schwinger’s empty net goal. While the red jackets are looking forward to winning the regular season, Bozen will go into the playoffs in fourth place.
