The Düsseldorfer EC from the DEL2 has set the course for the sporting future: head coach Harry Lange will continue to be part of the red and yellow team in the coming years. The 42-year-old Austrian extended his contract early until summer 2027, as the club officially announced during a fan talk with members of the “DEG Club 1935”.
Lange joined the Rhinelanders as the new head coach on December 21, 2025 and has significantly stabilized the team since then. In the 23 games under his leadership, the team showed positive development and is currently in 8th place in the DEL2 table. Because of this work and the progress in the sport, the club and coach agreed early on on a long-term collaboration.
The Klagenfurt native brings a wealth of experience from German and Austrian ice hockey: After stints as a player, including with the Graz99ers and EC Bad Nauheim, he began his coaching career in Germany.
