The Nockhalle in Radenthein is making a comeback after a long break. As part of a unanimous local council decision to lease it to a private operator, the way was cleared for a future ice cream operation today.
The restart creates a clear win-win situation, as the SPÖ Radenthein announced on social media: For the municipality of Radenthein, the project means a noticeable relief for the municipal finances, while Carinthian winter and ice hockey sports once again have an important regional infrastructure. Tourism can also benefit from additional overnight stays in the early and late season.
The ice hockey club based in the Nockhalle will receive stable conditions for a structured restart, especially in the youth sector. Above all, children, young people and everyone interested in sports will regain a sports and leisure facility that can be used almost all year round.
Although there is still some work to be done, Radenthein is sending a clear signal for sports promotion and youth development with this step.
