Before the away game at the Vienna Capitals this Wednesday, one thing is clear: Red Bull Salzburg can no longer overtake Graz. From the remaining three games, only two points are missing for a ticket to the Champions Hockey League.
The recent 4-2 win against KAC, in which the 99ers played big in the final third, once again underlined the team’s mental strength. For head coach Dan Lacroix, the last few games already felt like playoffs. What is crucial is the belief in being able to turn games around even after falling behind – a quality that is particularly in demand in the crucial phase of the season.
Lacroix had originally divided the last nine games into three blocks of three and set 21 points as the goal for second place. This target is now within reach and the starting position is excellent.
