The EC KAC is fighting for the CHL ticket against HC Innsbruck today. The Red Jackets are also working on a last minute transfer!
The KAC has already secured the right to pick for the playoffs, but now it’s about something even more important: the CHL ticket. The Red Jackets can secure their third participation in the Champions Hockey League in a row, their seventh overall, with a win over HC Innsbruck today. In return, you can score a maximum of one point less than HC Bozen in their parallel away game at Olimpija Ljubljana.
At the same time, there is also transfer news from Klagenfurt. As the “Kronen Zeitung” reports, they should work on a last minute transfer. Marcel Witting should strengthen the KAC for the playoffs and thus return to Lake Wörthersee.
The 30-year-old came through the Red Jackets’ youth ranks and completed his entire career at the KAC before moving to Linz in 2024 and a year later to Innsbruck, for whom he now plays against the Red Jackets.
There is still no confirmation from the two clubs about the transfer, but that could change after the game.
