After the bitter defeat against the Vienna Capitals, the Stahlstadters are already looking forward again. The green dragons from Laibach on the lower Donaulände will be making a guest appearance at the last family Sunday. Attention: The game starts at 3:30 p.m.!
Tomorrow’s guests are currently in fifth place in the table with 80 points. The Slovenians’ biggest success factor is their strong offensive. With 169 goals, the green dragons scored more goals than any other team in the win2day ICE Hockey League. In the league-wide top scorer statistics, two players from Laibach are in the top 3. Nicolai Meyer has 56 scorer points (20 goals, 36 assists), closely followed by Terrence Brennan with 50 scorer points (20 goals, 30 assists). The green dragons are also in the top ranks in the league’s other statistics. In the power play, the Slovenians impress with an efficiency of 24.36%. When outnumbered, the green dragons achieve a strong rate of 82.35%. Ljubljana is also in first place in the shots and saves statistics. Between the posts, Lukas Horak has a save percentage of 91.79%. His backup goalie Luka Kolin also proved to be a strong support in his 15 appearances with a rate of 88.48%. However, in yesterday’s game against KAC, the otherwise strong offensive failed to get going and the Slovenians had to admit defeat 2-0. In the previous duels with the green dragons, the Upper Austrians were only able to win the home game. In the 4-2 win in the Linz AG Eisarena, the Stahlstadters were successful twice in the power play – a factor that will also be important in tomorrow’s game.
Locker room update
In yesterday’s game against Vienna, Linz got off to a good start and took the lead with Jonathan Oschgan’s goal, and the Caps followed suit shortly afterwards. The two teams exchanged blows fairly in both the first and second periods of the game and both had good opportunities. In the final third, the Viennese finally managed to shift the game to their side and put the Stahlstadters under a lot of pressure. In the end, Brian Lebler and Co. had to admit defeat with a score of 1:4. The next chance to collect important points awaits tomorrow with the meeting with Laibach. There will be no changes in personnel for tomorrow’s game and head coach Philipp Lukas is sending the same line-up onto the ice as yesterday.
Linz AG Family Sunday: Free entry for children and young people
Tomorrow is the last Family Sunday of this season and there is a special offer: children and young people up to the age of 18 receive a free standing ticket! This can easily be picked up at the box office on the day of the match with a valid ID. The earlier start time of 3:30 p.m. also ensures that even the youngest fans can enjoy the game to the fullest. So nothing stands in the way of an unforgettable family afternoon in the Linz AG Eisarena – with excitement, atmosphere and lots of enthusiasm for ice hockey.
Upper Austria family card: the whole family for just 25 euros
In addition to the Linz AG Family Sundays, there is a separate ticket campaign on the same dates in cooperation with the OÖ Familienkarte. Family tickets (standing room in the Linz AG Eisarena) are available at www.tickets.blackwings.at or directly at the box office for 25 euros. This offer is limited to 200 cards per game. By presenting the purchased family ticket and the Upper Austrian family card, free counting cards can be picked up at the box office for the remaining registered family members.
Voices
Head Coach Philipp Lukas: “A difficult task awaits us tomorrow. It won’t be easy with our failures, but that should be put aside. I think it’s important that we turn the page today and learn from it that we don’t just give up these goals and see that we can take control of the game tomorrow.”
Patrick Söllinger: “We have to be completely mentally ready tomorrow and get off to a similar start to yesterday. We have to build on the first third and show our best game in every situation.”
