After 500 games it’s over: ICEHL referee hangs up skates!

Ice hockey referee Elias Seewald ended his active career yesterday in the Salzburg game against VSV ICE Hockey League. After around 500 games and 4,891 days as a referee, the final whistle was blown.

At the league restart EC Red Bull Salzburg against the EC VSV The 34-year-old was on the ice for the last time, in his adopted hometown of Salzburg. The highlights of his career include international appearances and the 2016 league final between Salzburg and Znojmo. In the future, Seewald would like to devote more time to his family and his career.
