ICEHL: The voices after the Salzburg victory over the KAC!

EC Red Bull Salzburg won the away game of the win2day ICE Hockey League against EC-KAC 4:3 in overtime and thus recorded their fourth win in a row (including the CHL).

In the expectedly even duel with the Klagenfurters, the hosts scored twice in the second half after a goalless first third, but were caught again by the Red Bulls until the second break with the score at 3:3. After another goalless third period, Brandon Coe scored for the Red Bulls in extra time and completed a brace after previously making it 3-3.

Statement Brandon Coe

“We came back well after falling behind with good penalty killing. Together with the strong Atte (Tolvanen) in goal, that was the basis for the victory. That’s what sets our team apart. Even if we’re behind, we never stop fighting and can still decide games like this.”

Post game commentary from Assistant Coach David Fischer

“A good game from us again. Dedication, intensity, speed, hardness, duel behavior – everything was right and the whole team got involved. I love how we played and how our team presented itself as a strong unit. Should Salzburg have scored three times in the second third? No. Did we generate 18 scoring chances? Yes. Did we have the chance to win the game in our power plays in the last period? Yes. But that’s sport, sometimes you play well, you deserve a win, he “But we don’t succeed. The big picture is very positive: the process is right, our team has earned and earned a lot of trust. We are not happy today because we are competitive athletes and want to win, but our team’s focus is good, and we will soon get a few players back in our team. We are now focused on the six league games until the next break.”
