Paul Sintschnig injured his upper body during his debut for the Austrian national ice hockey team. Now there is a “little all-clear” from the youngster.
In the first game of the Germany Cup, the ÖEHV selection dueled with Slovakia; for Paul Sintschnig it was the debut for the first, red-white-red set. Bitter: the 16-year-old had to end the game early due to an upper body injury.
Now the striker commented on the issue: “The injury is not quite as bad as feared,” said Sintschnig via the EC iDM Heat Pumps VSV social media. “In close consultation with the VSV doctors and my parents, it was decided to take a break and regenerate for the next few weeks. It is an upper body injury, physiotherapy will begin this week.” Even though it’s a setback, the Klagenfurt native is already looking forward: “Of course it’s disappointing, but that’s sport – things like that happen. I’ll come back stronger!”
Villach, currently in 7th place, will return from the first international break next Friday. The derby against their eternal rivals from Klagenfurt awaits the Draustadt team.
