In the first duel of the season on October 31st, the forests narrowly won 4-3 after extra time.

Zell am See back on the winning road

For defending champions EK Die Zeller Eisbären, the 4-2 win at Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan was their first win after two defeats in a row. In the table, the Pinzgauers improved to fifth place, while the Broncos suffered their sixth defeat in a row and fell back to twelfth place. Vipiteno got off to a dream start and took the lead after just 44 seconds through Franco Sproviero. The narrow 1-0 held until the 28th minute before Christian Jennes equalized for the defending champions. It was the beginning of the turning point: Max Stiegler scored in the 31st minute to give Zell am See a 2-1 lead, and just three minutes later the 21-year-old completed his second brace of the season – Max Wilfan assisted on both goals. Four minutes before the end, the Broncos caused tension again with a 2-3 goal, but after the South Tyrolean goalkeeper Dominik Groh was taken off the ice, Max Wilfan made everything clear with an empty-net goal two minutes before the end.
