KAC youngster David Waschnig has decided on his sporting future!

The 19-year-old David Waschnig from Klagenfurt was able to fight for a permanent place at the KAC last season. The striker remains loyal to his hometown club.

The Carinthian was on the ice in 44 games for the KAC last season and scored nine points. With good performances, Waschnig has fought for a permanent place in head coach Kirk Furey’s squad.

Achievements did not go unnoticed

His performance did not go unnoticed by talent scouts from the USA, which is why Waschnig was drafted by the Des Moines Buccaneers at position 110 in the USHL Entry Draft. It was unclear whether the Carinthian would make his way to Iowa or continue to play for his hometown club, also because Waschnig was in the middle of graduating at the time.

As the “Crown newspaper” reports, the youngster has decided to stay on Lake Wörthersee. David Waschnig will be wearing the Red Jackets’ jersey until 2028. “I was able to develop really well in Klagenfurt and would like to continue to do so,” said the 19-year-old.
