The HCI has managed a transfer success. Philipp Lindner returns to HC TIWAG Innsbruck-Die Haie after 7 years. The contract with his previous club VSV was terminated and Lindner signed with the Haien for two years.
The now 30-year-old played for the Haie for three seasons from 2016 to 2019, making over 150 league games. For the 19/20 season, the defender moved to Graz for two years before moving to Villacher SV for a total of 5 years. For the Eagles, Lindner was a reliable player and leader, and in recent years he also led the Villach team as assistant captain and at times even as captain. Now it’s time to come home.
The entire organization of HC TIWAG Innsbruck-Die Haie is looking forward to Philipp Lindner’s return to HCI.
Philipp Lindner:
“It’s always a good feeling to come back to where the heart and the family are. Something has been building up in Innsbruck over the last few years and I would like to be part of it. My aim will of course be to be a top performer on the ice. In the dressing room I will take on the role that the dressing room needs. I’m new and have to adapt. I’m really looking forward to our fans. They’ve given a lot in the last two years, now it’s time to give something back to them.”
HC TIWAG Innsbruck head coach Ryan Kinasewich:
“With Philipp we have one of the best Austrian defenders in our team; he stands for toughness, commitment and leadership. He is a figure of integration and will play a very important role in the team.”
HC TIWAG Innsbruck Assistant Coach Florian Pedevilla:
“We have been in contact with Philipp throughout the years. We always had the desire to bring him back home. When we heard about the possibility of a commitment, we immediately made contact and were able to convince Philipp very quickly. We are happy and very proud of this commitment.”
