Last season, the American Nick Pastujov was crowned Danish champion with the Herning Blue Foy, but the former ICEHL crack is now taking on a new challenge.
Pastujov stormed into Europe for the first time in 2023/24 – back then he laced up his skates for the Pioneers Vorarlberg and was able to prove his skills with 44 points. Behind Steven Owre (62 and league MVP) and Guus van Nes (52), Pastujov finished third within the team.
Switch to ICE competition
Pastujov left Vorarlberg after one season and moved to Lake Wörthersee. In the EC-KAC dress, he was no longer able to match the points output from the previous season – he was able to collect 25 points in 40 games. The Red Jackets’ commitment also ended after a year.
Offensive explosion and championship title
Last summer he made the jump to Denmark, where he was supposed to play big for the Herning Blue Fox. In 45 games this season, Pastujov scored a whopping 29 times and scored 62 points. The Dane Victor Cubars also had 62 points, but his 32 goals ultimately secured him the scoring crown.
In the playoffs, Pastujov improved again and was the most dangerous crack of the postseason with eleven goals. Only teammate Mathias Bau Hansen (26) and Rungsted’s Filip Kalrsson (22) were able to surpass Pastujov’s 20 points.
In the final there was a top duel between the basic round winner from Herning and number 2 from Herlev. But the Blue Fox made short work of it and grabbed the championship title with a sweep.
New league – new challenge
After the title, Pastujov, who has clearly found his feet with the Danes, moves on. The 28-year-old striker is heading to Sweden, where the left-handed shooter has signed a contract with second division club BIK Karlskoga.
