AlpsHL: Zeller Eisbären make the next personnel decision!

Leon Widhalm and the EKZ are continuing their collaboration. The number 69 will continue to delight the fans in the KE KELIT Arena with his energetic game next season and continue to storm for the Eisbären.

Leon Widhalm is now entering his fourth season in Zell am See. The powerhouse impresses with its energetic playing style. He completes his checks, accepts every duel, runs and runs and works like no other. Last season he was also given the honor of acting as assistant captain in away games, an indication of the status the left-shooter already has.

DATA CHECK

Widhalm played 42 games for the EKZ last season, scoring 2 goals and 6 assists. He has a -2 in the +/- statistics and has also accumulated 49 penalty minutes.

CAREER

He was born on May 22, 2003, in Vienna. So today he celebrates his 23rd birthday. Widhalm played in the youth ranks of the Vienna Capitals and was promoted to the Silver Capitals in the 2021/22 season, where he played a full season in the Alps Hockey League and also made his debut for the fighting team in the ICEHL. In 2023/24 he moved to Zell am See, initially on loan or as part of a cooperation between the two clubs, but he is now permanently under contract in Pinzgau. During his time with the Eisbären he has already won the Alps Hockey League once and the Austrian championship once, but is still hungry for more.
