Last season, the Canadian Travis Barron performed well in the Steinbach Black Wings Linz uniform, but after just one year on the Danube the collaboration ended again. Now his new employer has been determined.
For the 27-year-old striker, the Upper Austrians were the first employer outside of North America. Barron found his feet well and finished the season with 42 points in 45 games. This put him in second place in the team’s internal scoring race – Graham Knott finished the season with 49 points.
The 305-time AHL crack stays in Europe and moves to Slovakia. There Barron joins the HK Dukla Trencin. Trencin only finished the basic round of the Tipsport League in 11th place and therefore had to go into relegation. There they secured their place in the top Slovak league.
