AlpsHL: Alexander Lahoda has clarified his future!

The next “local” to extend his contract. Alexander Lahoda, a real Zeller, new father and dangerous attacker, will also play for the EKZ in the coming season and will continue to contribute his qualities to the team.

Alexander Lahoda was born in Zell, but played in the first division for a long time, with Salzburg, Villach and most recently Linz, and even made three international appearances during this time. In 2023 we will return home to Pinzgau. Since then he has fit perfectly into the team and can fill several roles. Lahoda is a versatile player with few weaknesses. He works at the back, is always good for a hit up front, stands well on his skates, carries the disc excellently and can read the game. He only missed two games last season and is an integral part of Marcel Rodman’s team.

DATA CHECK

Alexander Lahoda played 54 games for the EKZ last season. The right-handed shooter contributed 21 goals (8 goals, 13 assists). He has 24 penalty minutes and has a -2 +/- rating. He has already played a total of 111 games for the Eisbären, with more to follow in the coming season.

CAREER

Alexander Lahoda was born on August 1st, 1996 in Zell am See. Through the youth ranks of the Eisbären and Salzburg, he made the jump to the first league, where he played for several years with Salzburg, Villach and Linz and played over 200 EBEL and ICEHL games. With the Eisbären he won the Alps Hockey League championship last year and won the Austrian title this year.

STATEMENTS

Alexander Lahoda: “I’m of course super happy that I can play for Zell am See for another year and hunt for goals here, in my hometown, in front of by far the best fans in the league. I’m really looking forward to the season starting again. I think we’re putting together a good team again and I hope that we can play at the front again. Another point is that my daughter can maybe come along to the hall a few times next season and maybe she’ll get a little idea of what it’s like “Dad is playing. I’m very motivated for another year and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

Head coach Marcel Rodman: “It is very important to have the local players on board. The more we have of them, the more heart there is in the team. Alex took another big step forward last season, on both ends of the ice. The longer the playing time went on, the stronger he became. We want to continue like this together, with him we have a leading player who leads by example and embodies everything we want to see.”
