Weak season: Striker leaves ICEHL for the north!

Canadian striker Troy Lajeunesse is turning his back on the win2day ICE Hockey League after just one season. The 28-year-old center was officially introduced by the traditional Danish club Esbjerg Energy on Friday and has signed there for the coming season.

Disappointing season in the ICEHL

Lajeunesse was active in the ICEHL last season, but was unable to meet the expectations of HC Innsbruck. The attacker, who is only 175 centimeters tall, never really found his game consistently and only scored 10 goals in 44 games. As a result, the Innsbruck team parted ways with the Canadian after the season.

Things went much better in Denmark

On the other hand, his involvement with Aalborg Pirates in the Danish Metal Ligaen a year earlier was much more successful. There the Canadian exploded offensively: in 58 games he collected a strong 69 points, including 34 goals.

Return to Denmark

In Esbjerg they are now hoping that Lajeunesse can confirm their strong form from Aalborg and lead the club back towards the title fight.
