Good news for the Austrian national team: Vinzenz Rohrer has arrived in Zurich and is strengthening Roger Bader’s team in time for the start of the World Cup.
Important building block for the national team
Team boss Bader described the striker as an important part of the team. Above all, his speed, intensity and energy should give Austria additional quality. Rohrer completed his first session with the team on Wednesday.
Zurich as a second home
For the 20-year-old, the World Cup almost feels like a home tournament. In terms of hockey, Rohrer has had close ties to Switzerland since his youth and also knows the Swiss Life Arena very well – after all, he celebrated great success there with the ZSC Lions. In particular, the championship title in 2024 and winning the Champions Hockey League in 2025 remain unforgettable moments for him, as he revealed to the “Kronen Zeitung”.
Intense weeks in North America
Before his arrival, Rohrer spent several weeks in North America, where he gained further important experience. Despite changes in the environment and new structures, the time was extremely instructive.
Looking forward to the World Cup
Rohrer is optimistic about the tournament. The team wants to take the self-confidence from the past World Championships with them. In any case, the enthusiasm surrounding the World Cup is great – even in private life: the ÖEHV striker has plenty of ticket requests.
