Next contract extension and again it’s a very important one. Blaz Tomazevic will also play for the EKZ in 2026/27 and will continue to whirl through the opposing defenses.
Tomazevic moved to the Eisbären at the beginning of October last season in response to several injuries. When he was new to the team, he needed a few games to warm up, but then quickly showed his typical qualities. Hard to separate from the target, he often curves back and forth through the opponent’s third. Quick, strong, agile, strong with the puck and always with an eye for his teammates, he developed into an indispensable component in the Zell am See offensive line. As part of the strong second row, he formed a formidable trio with Jennes and Wilfan and performed consistently and reliably. His playmaking qualities predominate, sometimes you would almost wish that he would look for the finish more himself, but he was always good for a goal, especially in important games, and he is by no means shy about waiting in the slot for a pass or a deflection. Overall, Blaz Tomazevic is undoubtedly an asset to the EKZ’s attacking game. With his broad skillset, we are looking forward to seeing him on the ice for the Eisbären in the coming season.
DATA CHECK

STATEMENTS
Blaz Tomazevic: “The decision to stay in Zell am See wasn’t difficult for me when the club offered me the opportunity. My family and I feel very comfortable here, it’s a beautiful city and the fans are the best in the league. I believe that we still have unfinished business from last season and I hope that we can achieve our goals this year. I’m really looking forward to the new season.”
Head coach Marcel Rodman: “Blaz came in last season after we had some injured imports. It took a while, but then he really found his game. He skates well, is a real playmaker, a good guy in the locker room and was ultimately one of the most consistent players in the second half of the season. He played an important role and I expect the same for next season. I think we are stronger with him, so we are happy to have extended with him.”
Managing Director Patrick Schwarz: “We are really pleased that Blaz will be an important part of our organization again next season. Maxi Wilfan and Christian Jennes played alongside him for most of the season and both scored 20 goals each – that definitely speaks for the qualities of Blaz, who can make his teammates better and works a lot on offense. At the same time, he also impresses with his defensive play, works incredibly hard at the back and takes responsibility for the team in all situations. He puts in his full effort in every game and always puts himself in the position Service of the team and is also a great character as a person, so we are very happy to continue to have him in our ranks.”
