Former Joey Martin has renewed his contract with the reigning EIHL champions, the Cardiff Devils. The Canadian remains a central pillar in the squad of the top British club.
Continuity for the Cardiff champions
The Cardiff Devils will continue to rely on experience and leadership quality in the coming season. With Martin’s contract extension, the Welsh have secured one of their most consistent scorers and team leaders, who is already in his eleventh season with the Devils. It will also be his third as captain.
The striker has been one of the team’s defining figures for years and has already won several titles and personal awards with the club.
Successful past in Graz
In addition to his long time in Cardiff, Martin also played in the ICE Hockey League with the
Graz99ers. In the 2020/21 season, the striker joined the Styrians and scored 27 points in 43 games. After just one season with the 99ers, he went back to Wales. The striker has now extended his contract with the reigning EIHL champions for another year.
