Korbinian Holzer’s active playing career is over. The former captain of the Graz99ers could soon celebrate his “comeback” on the Mur.
At the age of 38, the Munich native gave up his skates. At the end of an active career, he was crowned champion with the Moser Medical Graz99ers.
Holzer takes over position at DEB
The next task awaits the former defender as he takes over the job of U20 team manager. Holzer officially starts this new adventure on July 1st – he is currently completing coaching training with the German Ice Hockey Association.
Comeback in Graz possible?
But that’s not all, because as the “Crown newspaper” reports, there could possibly be a reunion between the 99ers and the German soon. Sports director Philipp Pinter confirmed the contact: “We are in talks with Korbinian Holzer, our ex-captain, and would like to win him over as a development coach for our boys.” The fact that the former captain also holds the position of U20 head coach shouldn’t matter: “But that wouldn’t be an obstacle,” said Pinter.
