Former ICEHL top striker Radek Prokeš has found a new club in the second Czech league. The 31-year-old attacker is moving from VHK Vsetín to HC Tábor for the 2026/27 season.
Outstanding season in Znojmo
ICEHL fans still remember Prokeš’ strong time with the Orli Znojmo. In the 2021/22 season, the Czech was one of the absolute top players in the league and collected an impressive 51 scorer points (25 goals, 26 assists) in 47 games.
This made Prokeš the second best scorer in the ICE Hockey League – only Peter Schneider was able to record more points at the time.
A move to Vienna did not bring the breakthrough he had hoped for
After his strong season in Znojmo, Prokeš moved to the Vienna Capitals. However, the winger couldn’t quite match his previous performances there.
In 48 games for the Viennese, he scored eight goals and 19 assists. In the playoffs he contributed another four points. Overall, his time in Vienna fell short of high expectations.
Recently active again in the Czech Republic
After his involvement in the ICEHL, Prokeš first moved to HC Nové Zámky in Slovakia before spending the last two years with VHK Vsetín in the second highest Czech league.
Now comes the next stop in his career with the move to HC Tábor. The experienced attacker should take on an important role in the offensive game.
